After everything that transpired last couple of weeks,
here in the states,
over Dan Cathy's statement on his family's beliefs
concerning their view on marriage,
(which caused such an uproar for all those
who disagree with their Biblical stance),
I must say something.
What I saw...
the body of Christ
came together
and stood with a brother,
who was being lied about.
They took their stand,
quietly,
peacefully,
lovingly.
No name-calling,
no bashing,
no hatred.
They stood with a brother in Christ,
because he's one of ours,
and they stood for their right to free speech,
as well as freedom of religion.
They weren't afraid to identify themselves
with the ones who were being ostracized
and ridiculed for their beliefs,
knowing full well, they will also
be hated and ridiculed by the world,
for believing simply that
God's word has the final say on
every aspect of their lives.
"18 If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you.
19 If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection andwould love you as its own. But because you are not of the world [no longer one with it], but I have chosen (selected) you out of the world, the world hates (detests) you."
John 15:18-19
