It's Saturday, Saturday, a yo ho ho, and a ha ha ha...

Today's title is a fond memory, Spanky from Little Rascals, belting out his "Saturday" song, from one of my favorite episodes.

So, it is, it's SATURDAY! We love Saturday, because hubby is here for me, Dad is here for our girls. And we've got this day, to do whatever needs to be done, plus...plus whatever we want.

I'm feeling like I need some fall festivities. Really needing some outdoor time, somewhere pretty, something "fall-ish". Like the farmer's market or possibly the Homestead Village.

We've been inside for days and days, because of incessant rain, followed by days of low, dark clouds, threatening to rain... so today it looks like we may see some sun. I am so hopeful! At least my mind is being fooled at the moment, the clouds outside my window, are high and thinner looking, they almost look like a faint blue sky. I'm pretending it's a blue sky. Please, don't burst my bubble!

Anyway, I stumbled upon a great blog this morning, just what I needed, this precious gal had a recipe for some pumpkin butter, and I am going to make that. I have what I need, and so this house will smell "fall-ish" today! Pumpkin-y, cinnamon-y, yummy!

So later today I'll be off, we'll be off, off on a fall escapade, I'm so ready to breath some fresh air. I need crisp, fall air!!!

I'll report back, just what adventures we happen to stumble upon in this day. Hopefully the camera batteries will be charged so we can document our day.

Toodles! Happy Fall Y'all!

Still in Awe

Well, here it is two days after receiving word about the home we have hoped for.

We're still in awe, and still amazed.

Only God could have known the exact amount we needed to bid, in order to win. The days in between, submitting our bid, and waiting for the outcome were very trying. We really tried hard not to second-guess the amount that my husband believed we were to bid. At first, I have to admit, that I thought the bid that God had set his heart on meant that we probably weren't supposed to buy this particular house. We were completely ready to see that someone else had outbid us, and we would be moving on, looking for another home, the one we were supposed to buy, instead of this one.

But that wasn't the case. On Monday morning, when the winning bid was posted, our bid and confirmation number was what we found, telling us that "YES, this is the house you are to buy!!!" God said "YES!"

We cannot stop thanking and praising Him! And the most amazing thing about this story, is that He allowed us to make the winning bid, without wasting anymore money that what was needed to win the bid. The amount settled in Curtis' heart, was exactly $1 dollar over the next highest bid. We are just floored, every time we think about it (which is almost non-stop).

God doesn't even have to do things like this for us. It is more than enough that He provided a way for us to know Him, and escape eternal damnation. It is more than enough, that He has given His Son, as a sacrifice for our sins, and forgiven us of all the sinful wrong-doing we've ever done and will ever do. He has secured us for Himself for all eternity. We do not deserve this mercy and grace, but He has poured it out upon us, and yet He chooses to do more. He does things like this for His children, time and time again, leaving us in awe, marveling at what a great God we have. He loves us and wants to teach us so many things, and it's in these times, of great mercy that more of Him is revealed to our hearts. Even in the most difficult of situations, His loving hand is there, teaching us and guiding us, showing us that we can most certainly trust Him in EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME!

"How great- is our God, sing with me-, How great- is our God, And all the world will see-, how great-, how great- is our GOD!!!"

Waiting...

Well, just a few more days, and we'll know. We'll know if the house we've been hoping for will be ours or someone elses. We prayed, placed our bid, whoops, wait, someone else is bidding, hmmm, pray again, adjust bid, and now we wait.

I'm praying for our hearts now, that if, IF, the house we have been so hopeful over, ends up not being ours, then we will KNOW that God did what we asked, and kept us from making a mistake. Sometimes our flesh can be just so downright goofy, and make us second-guess things. Right from the start, we've been hopeful that this might be the right house, but at the same time cautious. Now that it's so close, we find ourselves wanting it more than ever, and I'm so afraid we're going to forget what we prayed. I know we'll be fine if this is not the house, we'll start the search all over again, and we'll be fine. It's not that big of a deal, but somehow our flesh can make it seem like more of a big deal.

As you can probably tell, we're second-guessing ourselves about the bid we submitted. We should have waited until the last possible moment to submit it, so that we didn't wallow in the foolishness, of "what if...?"

We remind ourselves, IF this is what God has for us, He will make a way. No one thought we were wise to try and sell our home during a recession, but, God made a way. It sold. So we know, from the past, from all of the times that we can count, the times that God moved or did not move, on our behalf, we know that we can trust whatever He decides for us in this. It's my foolish heart that I cannot trust. If "no" is the answer, I will know God has a plan and it's different from the one I thought it was going to be, and everything will be fine.

So, please pray for us as we wait to hear the news. That we keep our eyes on Him, our loving, merciful Heavenly Father, as we wait...
