Just a quick stop, to update my very neglected blog.
I've been so busy with painting, and still getting some things unpacked, I haven't had any time to update here.
Things are coming along nicely, and I am so in love with the built-in shelves on each side of the fireplace, I can't wait to finish them. I have one side completed and love, love, love how they look.
Filling the shelves is another story. I'm wanting "minimalism", not "too much-ism". Lots of things are being boxed to either give away or sell.
It's fun to see things come together, I'm really loving the color we chose for the living room, hall and kitchen. It's a very soothing green, which has a really funny name- "Crocodile tears". Never knew Crocodile tears would make me so happy!
I'm really excited to see just what we come up with for our dining room table. We are planning to make our own. Several people we know have, and we're very excited about just what we might do. But first I've got to get this antique set sold, and soon.
In the kitchen I have some tiles that need to either be replaced or painted. I keep going back and forth, trying to decide what to do. One day painting sounds easier, then the next replacing them sounds like that's the way I should go. I don't know??? I need to review a video clip I saw on "This Old House", on how to remove and replace a wall tile. All I know, is they've got to go soon, that country blue color messes with my mind everytime I'm in the kitchen, and I'm not liking the kitchen too much right now. I know I will soon, once things are complete. Someday...someday it will be done!
I guess it's TOODLES for now!
Off to work I go, I need to go find my favorite paint brush and get busy!!!

Home Again
Welcome to our new home!
I'm so sorry I've neglected blog-land. But I've been so busy.
There are many things that need finishing up in this house, and slowly but surely we are working our way through.
It's amazing how quickly this place feels like home to us. It doesn't feel strange at all. It actually feels like God designed this house just for us, and had it ready for us, exactly when we needed it.
So many little details about this house, are like little love notes to each of us, "and this, this right here is something just for you..." Each one of us have had those moments, seeing how lovingly our God has provided for us.
We have very thankful hearts! We thank God every day for His blessings in all of this. And our prayer as a family is that this house be used to honour Him, and that we would bless others just as He has blessed us.

Beautiful Life Friday
Wow! The opportunity to share what made this week beautiful!
Sunday- being encouraged and challenged by our Pastor, as he taught faithfully from God's word. Beautiful words of life!!!
Monday- seeing all my beautiful friends(inside and out) at home-school co-op classes. And, having the opportunity to teach a group of young ladies the importance of building strong character.
Tuesday- staying home with our beautiful youngest daughter, sharing a beautiful Red Baron pizza, while handsome hubby took our beautiful, oldest daughter out on a "Daddy Daughter Date". She needed some encouragement, and he really blessed her! (Next week will be our youngest's turn). They had a beautiful time! She even bought some beautiful boots, for her hunting trips w/ her Dad.
Wednesday- hubby and I had an evening to ourselves, our scheduled, weekly date night. BEAUTIFUL! I love being married to my man and spending time with him!
Thursday- WOW, yesterday was incredible. A whole range of emotions throughout the whole day. The day began with knowing I needed to go and take some comfort food to a dear friend, who had an extremely hard day yesterday. I made her the biggest casserole dish full of homemade macaroni and cheese. Hopefully, every spoonful, reminded her of how beautiful I know she is and how much I love her!
When you have a dear friend who has experienced the depth of pain that she has, your protective mode comes on pretty strong, and you want to do everything in your power to stop the hurt. Then you have to remind yourself, you are only human, and you need to trust God to do what only He can do, He will carry her through this. Beautiful, humble reminder.
Later in the day, I needed to run to the store. Hubby wanted us to cook for our dear friends who have let us use this house, during our transition time, between selling our old house, and buying our next house.
While at the store, I ran into another dear friend, one who I have not seen for months. We've known her for years, and the wisdom this precious saint has for other women is amazing. We were lost in conversation for I don't know how long, right there in the middle of the produce section. Beautiful setting for a fruitful conversation! Ha! I shared the most recent event of our life, how God allowed us to win the bid on the house we are purchasing by $1!!! Still in awe, every time we ponder that beautiful act of grace.
Our beautiful realtor just happened to call, while we were there talking. When we won the bid on the house we are purchasing, (and hoping to beautify on a shoe-string budget), we were told that our closing date was set for Nov. 23, the same week as Thanksgiving. ". . . 45 days, these types of deals always take 45 days to close, so just be patient... there's nothing we can do to change the date. . ."
I had mentioned to our realtor, previously, that since it was the same week of Thanksgiving we wouldn't be able to make it to my parents this year, for our annual family get-together, which really is a beautiful time.
Our realtor-"Awwww, that stinks! I'll see if there's any way possible they might could move it up a week..."
We haven't heard anything back from her, about this, for a couple of weeks. When all of a sudden, out of the blue, the title company calls her up, and wants to know if we could work it into our schedule to close next Thursday!?! Next Thursday??? BEA-U-TI-FUL!!!
But here's the cool thing, our realtor, when she called, the first thing she asks- "Have you been praying?" "About what?" "Your closing date?" "Well, no, we've just realized that it will happen whenever it happens... why, have you been praying?" The realtor- "No, I didn't think to, but, I don't know how this happened, but they are moving your closing date up to next week!!!" "NEXT WEEK???" Almost a whole month sooner than what we were first told??? I know what happened, we have one extremely, amazing, beautiful God, who is in control of everything, that's what happened! To God alone, be the glory! The realtor didn't do anything, we didn't do anything. . . God did.
So, the first person I get to share this news with, was my beautiful, dear friend, right there in the grocery store, she's thanking God and praising God with me. Then later that night, we were given the opportunity to share the good news with our beautiful friends who were here for dinner.
And so here it is, this Friday, Beautiful Life Friday, how blessed I am, to know the God of the universe, my God, who created me, who loves me, & who redeemed me, and truly cares about every little detail of our lives. That is too beautiful for words...
