Spring is Definitely In The Air

This morning was amazing, beautiful sunshine streamed in through the front windows as I opened the shades. Birds were singing glorious songs, and I thanked God for this beautiful day.

It sure does help one's spirit when the sights and sounds shout out to you, "Spring is on it's way!!!!".

I need to go outside and see if any of the spring plants that sprouted a couple of weeks ago are blooming? That would be one beautiful surprise!

Today I am determined to finish a couple of projects that have needed my attention. Time to finish up a little sewing. I'm making pillows for the couch in our sitting area, where the new coffee bar is. I need to cozy it up.

I need to get all this inside stuff finished, completed, & out of the way, so I can be ready to play in the dirt as soon as hubby gets someone here to break the ground in our garden spot. I'm ready, so, so ready!!!
It's a new day, new week and I'm feeling so much better. So glad to be picked up out of the moody-blue pit, I felt myself in.
"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it, for this is the day!!!"
Happy Wednesday, enjoy!

Tuesday, Bluesday...

Don't know why, but I seem to be in some kind of daze, haze, funk. . . not sure what to call it, but I do not like it.

Maybe it's the dark cloudy days we've had lately, doing their number on me, I don't know. . . but I do not like what I see happening to my mood and my thoughts. I seem to be having so much trouble just staying focused this week.

I've heard people tell others, "just snap out of it", but THAT just does not always work.

Weighing heavy on my mind, are several prayer requests, and this funk hanging over me, is keeping me from doing what I need to be doing for these dear loved ones and friends, I need to be in prayer, but I don't know how to describe what happens to me every time I set my mind to pray. I begin a prayer, and start out fine, but all of a sudden I find myself, trying so hard to keep myself from getting distracted. My mind wanders, and flips and flops, and almost seems to run from the task before me. I try so hard to capture my thoughts, discipline myself, I do make it through some of my prayer list, but I cannot remember the last time I have completed a prayer this past week. It's discouraging, and makes me feel awful.

Have you ever counted how many times people have asked for prayer in any given day? Week? If you have contacts through email or facebook, and are like me, you probably have several people share prayer needs, and I do tell them I will pray with them because I want to and mean to. I most often do right then, when the need is made known. A short little prayer, "Lord, please help in this situation, You know what is needed, and You know how to accomplish this, I trust in you..."

However, I find myself not continueing like I should, I keep these requests close in thought, and do send up an occassional prayer every now and then, but when it comes to really setting aside a special time just for praying through my whole prayer list, I find that my mind cannot stay focused long enough to follow through completely. It's extremely frustrating, and I find myself being mad at myself for not being able to finish.

So, this thought came to mind today, ". . .when is the last time you've asked others to pray for you?" I feel so weak, tired, sort of gloomy, and think I'm in need of prayer.

There it is, if you happen to be reading this, please pray for me. Please pray that I will be able to rise above this mood, and not let it hold me down. That I will lean on Christ, and not lean on my own strength. Whatever the Holy Spirit lays on your heart, please pray.

I know this isn't huge, but I think I have just realized how important it is to recognize our need to have others pray for us, it's ok to ask for prayer.

It really is ok. "Bear ye, one another's burdens and so fulfill the Law of Christ..." Galatians 6:2

Tuesday's Thoughts

Just a quick stop, to update my very neglected blog.

I've been so busy with painting, and still getting some things unpacked, I haven't had any time to update here.

Things are coming along nicely, and I am so in love with the built-in shelves on each side of the fireplace, I can't wait to finish them. I have one side completed and love, love, love how they look.

Filling the shelves is another story. I'm wanting "minimalism", not "too much-ism". Lots of things are being boxed to either give away or sell.

It's fun to see things come together, I'm really loving the color we chose for the living room, hall and kitchen. It's a very soothing green, which has a really funny name- "Crocodile tears". Never knew Crocodile tears would make me so happy!

I'm really excited to see just what we come up with for our dining room table. We are planning to make our own. Several people we know have, and we're very excited about just what we might do. But first I've got to get this antique set sold, and soon.

In the kitchen I have some tiles that need to either be replaced or painted. I keep going back and forth, trying to decide what to do. One day painting sounds easier, then the next replacing them sounds like that's the way I should go. I don't know??? I need to review a video clip I saw on "This Old House", on how to remove and replace a wall tile. All I know, is they've got to go soon, that country blue color messes with my mind everytime I'm in the kitchen, and I'm not liking the kitchen too much right now. I know I will soon, once things are complete. Someday...someday it will be done!

I guess it's TOODLES for now!

Off to work I go, I need to go find my favorite paint brush and get busy!!!
