A little getaway...

simplicity...

God's creation...

rest...

refreshing...

healthy...

a splurge...

laughing...

living...

exploring...

Yes...exploring.  

We found this little Bistro

 tucked away in a small quiet town.

The owners- 

an elderly Texas gentlemen

and his German wife, 

who spoke in her beautiful German accent.

And on the menu?

Tuscan Schnitzel

or

Moroccan Beef w/ couscous

and many other items I cannot remember.

All cooked fresh,

and served with pride.

A feast for the eyes as well as

for the body.

The lost art of conversation is expected.

No cell phones allowed.

No hats on men.

Rude children will be corrected.

Do not ask for a salt shaker,

everything is perfectly seasoned.

(and it was)

Oh, it was such a nice meal!

If we would only 

put into practice, 

each day,

simple rules, 

guidelines,

that help us to 

love one another 

through our actions.

Because... 

actions speak louder than words.

Good manners are a gift, and show love to those around you.

So very thankful that the owners of the Bistro 

have a standard and wish to teach others 

the goodness that comes from 

the thoughtfulness of good manners.

   

Praying that we walk in His ways, 

and bless others with His love.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, 

patience, kindness, goodness, 

faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. 

Against such things there is no law."

Gal. 5:22-23

but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, 

is ever ready to believe the best of every person, 

its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, 

and it endures everything [without weakening].

 Love never fails 

[never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]."

Hello???

Anyone there???

I wouldn't be surprised if all of my former

followers have moved on and forgotten

about this very quiet blog.

I've been busy.  And tired.

This stage of life brings me 

more sleepless nights, 

than when I had little

babies to tend to.  

Night sweats.  

No fun!

Without much sleep through the night

my days haven't been the best.  

Poking and prodding myself

to accomplish something,

to keep up with household duties,

has been harder than ever before.  

I don't like that.  

A friend shared that there is an 

eating plan, to help with all the 

changes a woman's body is going through.  

I'm looking into that and making changes

for the better: proper nutrition does 

wonders for us, doesn't it?

I seek advice from those who

have already been here. 

My sister tells me that life is 

grand on the other side.  

I do look forward to that! 

Mr. C took me camping a couple

of weeks ago.  The weather had

turned a little cooler, it was so nice.

It was like he took me to a 

"no hot flash" zone.

Camping beside the river 

was good for the soul. 

Scripture comes to mind, any time

we're near water and lush vegetation.

"The Lord is my shepherd,

I shall not want.

² 

He makes me lie down 

in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

³ 

He restores my soul;

He guides me in the paths of 

righteousness

For His name’s sake."

Cool enough to enjoy a blazing, crackling fire.

Very relaxing!

And the next morning, we pulled out the

old coffee pot, our one burner, portable

stove, and made coffee.

Much better than a quaint coffee shop,

having a steaming cup of java,

right there on the banks of the river. 

My brave man waded out into the

very frigid waters, to catch a few trout.  

I fished from the dry bank. 

I forgot to snap a picture of our catch.  

Only three this time around.

They were biting slow, 

due to the full moon.

It was such a nice little 

getaway for the both of us.  

Our first time to camp alone

since our children were born.  

Don't tell our girls, 

but...

it was so much easier,

just the two of us.

Mr. C only had to wait on one

female to ready herself for the day.

Not three. 

A nice change for him!
