Table for two please...

Those words did not come out of Mr. C's mouth 

on our most recent date.

No, it was more like, tree for one please...

and then another one, please.

He needed a tree, I needed a tree.

You see, 

he had asked me to accompany him 

on his bow-hunting trip.

And this is what it looked like from my seat

when I looked straight down.

He has graciously taught me

how to use a 

climbing tree stand,

so that I can see what it's like

to sit quietly in the woods, 

waiting for deer to appear at hopefully

just the right time.

And this was the view straight out in front of me.

Oak trees, and a hay field that had 

recently been cut.  

To my left, you can spot 

Mr. C, perched on the side of the tree,

if you look very carefully. 

It was such a fun date.

And I even got to wear

CAMOUFLAGE!!!

Sorry, no pictures of that.

What types of fun dates do you share

with your husband???

Anything unusual or 

out of the ordinary?

Whatever you and your husband do,

be pleasant, agreeable,

relax and enjoy yourselves.

He needs time away from all of the 

busyness of life, 

just as much as you do,

maybe even more so.

Dates do not have to be big, 

expensive or impressive so we 

can brag to others what we did.

Dates are for just the two of you,

to do what is uniquely fun,

 for you and your spouse.

Let your husband plan something for the two of you,

that you have no say in, 

and go have some fun!

October's Arrival

Cool, dewy mornings,

breezy afternoons,

dappled bits of sunshine

through green lush leaves.

Boone curled up in

his new dog house,

just right outside

the kitchen door.

Starting the day

with my Bible,

a devotion from

Spurgeon,

and a cup of coffee.

Many prayers for

family and friends,

near and far, who are

always close in my heart.

Sending off my loved ones

each morning,

and I am here,

waiting their return.

Between the parting and the

coming home again,

I tend to the things that need to be

done each day for those who

God has placed in my life.

And I realize, I am so blessed

to have been given a husband

who provides for us, so that

I can be his help-meet.

And my prayer for myself,

is that God would help me to

be mindful of the time I've been given

to use these hours wisely,

to always be a blessing and not

a burden to my husband, who

works so hard, so that when he

returns each day, he can readily

see, that I have been faithful

over all that I've been entrusted

to during this day.

Praying for my sister's in Christ,

who have also been given the blessed

privilege of being-

Keepers of their Homes!

"The Lord Bless Thee

And Keep Thee..."

The Way I See It...

After everything that transpired last couple of weeks, 

here in the states, 

over Dan Cathy's statement on his family's beliefs 

concerning their view on marriage, 

(which caused such an uproar for all those 

who disagree with their Biblical stance), 

I must say something.

What I saw...

the body of Christ

came together

and stood with a brother,

who was being lied about.

They took their stand,

quietly,

peacefully,

lovingly.

No name-calling,

no bashing,

no hatred.

They stood with a brother in Christ, 

because he's one of ours, 

and they stood for their right to free speech,

as well as freedom of religion. 

They weren't afraid to identify themselves

with the ones who were being ostracized

and ridiculed for their beliefs, 

knowing full well, they will also

be hated and ridiculed by the world,

for believing simply that

God's word has the final say on

every aspect of their lives.  

^"18 If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you.

¹⁹ If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection andwould love you as its own. But because you are not of the world [no longer one with it], but I have chosen (selected) you out of the world, the world hates (detests) you."

John 15:18-19
